Auguste Rodin, a master sculptor, created one of his most famous works, "The Thinker", in 1880. This sculpture, located at the Musée Rodin, is incorporated, along with other works, in one of Rodin's large, intricate pieces titled "The Gates of Hell". However, "The Gates of Hell" were never finished due to Rodin's death in 1917.
My concentration piece concerning the destruction or progression of women's roles in society is modeled after "The Thinker" since the positioning of Rodin's figure is similar to how I am constructing my sculpture. |
